Worked entirely on pure georgette in black, this saree carries hand embroidered Parsi Gara florals drawn from motifs that have travelled through generations of the craft. The multicolour thread work sits against the dark ground with the depth and precision that Gara embroidery is known for, each motif built by hand, stitch by stitch, over weeks on end, in the tradition of the old trousseau pieces this craft originated from. The floral vocabulary of Gara embroidery has always drawn from nature, birds, blossoms and foliage rendered in fine detail, and this saree carries that same visual language forward.

The saree is paired with an unstitched blouse piece in matching pure georgette, left unstitched so it may be tailored to fit. Pure georgette carries a fluidity that suits the drape of the saree well, allowing the weight of the embroidery to sit close to the body without the fabric losing its structure or fall.
