The Gara, an age-old Parsi tradition, goes into a Parsi bride’s trousseau. It is passed from a mother to a daughter and preserved for generations. Even today, millennials and Gen Z Parsis love wearing a Gara.
According to fashion experts, the Parsi gara enjoyed its golden period roughly between 1910 and 1930s. Some of the most popular embroideries were the phoenix and the cranes. Fish was another popular motif. Fabrics also sported designs such as ornamental flowers.
This is a black Parsi Gara embroidery fully hand crafted dupatta. This dupatta has gorgeous floral with birds embroidered jaal all over. These are fully hand embroidered by highly skilled artisans to make a surreal masterpiece.
